Allround Engineer FMN Interoperability & Integration

Responsibilities

• ▹Implement and support FMN Core Services, including networking, identity, collaboration, service management and secure information exchange
• ▹Achieve interoperability between national systems using standardised interfaces and protocols
• ▹Configure, manage and troubleshoot routing, switching, VPNs, DNS, firewalls and secure gateways in federated environments
• ▹Carry out integration, verification and validation activities and take part in interoperability tests such as CWIX
• ▹Implement federated identity and access management and support secure information exchange
• ▹Work with national and international stakeholders to solve interoperability issues
• ▹Write technical documentation in line with FMN governance, including test designs, test results and compliance evidence
• ▹Act as both technical engineer and coordination point during integration and test activities
• ▹Keep knowledge of FMN standards, Spiral Specifications and interoperability patterns up to date

Requirements

• ▹Experience as an Allround Engineer or System Integrator in complex, distributed IT environments
• ▹Thorough knowledge of IP networking, including BGP, OSPF, VPNs, firewalls and DNS
• ▹Experience with system integration across organisational and security boundaries
• ▹Knowledge of federated identity concepts such as PKI, SAML, OAuth and secure access control
• ▹Knowledge of cybersecurity principles in multi-domain environments
• ▹Experience with virtualisation and/or container platforms
• ▹Ability to analyse faults across network, infrastructure and service layers
• ▹Experience with Agile, DevOps or similar ways of working
• ▹Willingness to travel internationally for interoperability tests and exercises
• ▹A Dutch security clearance (VGB), or eligibility for one
• ▹A NATO Security Clearance (at least NATO Secret), or eligibility for one
• ▹Good command of English

Nice to have

• ▹Experience with NATO FMN Spiral Specifications or comparable interoperability frameworks
• ▹Experience in Defence, government or other highly regulated organisations
• ▹Knowledge of NATO STANAGs and international data exchange standards
• ▹Experience with cloud or hybrid infrastructures
• ▹Participation in interoperability exercises such as CWIX
• ▹Relevant certifications such as CCNP, Security+ or CISSP
