Senior Network Engineer

Responsibilities

• ▹Build and manage the data center LAN together with colleagues
• ▹Translate network designs into working network configurations
• ▹Second- and third-line support as the go-to expert
• ▹Provide technical guidance to development and project teams, keeping design and configuration up to date and secure
• ▹Monitor performance and availability of the IT infrastructure, analyze potential problems and propose improvements and solutions
• ▹Troubleshoot network issues and coordinate with vendors to install the latest hardware and software, such as routers and switches
• ▹Project implementation, project planning and cost analysis, building proof-of-concept solutions
• ▹Design and implement local and wide-area network solutions, including IP and VoIP
• ▹Prepare technical solutions for customers for implementation, go-live and maintenance

Requirements

• ▹8+ years of experience in network support, configuration and implementation
• ▹6+ years of experience in core switching, routing, MPLS and firewalls
• ▹Networking and security architecture and engineering support experience across local, regional and global domains
• ▹Ability to execute multiple IT projects and deadlines effectively with limited supervision
• ▹Several years of experience in complex (enterprise) LAN/WAN network environments
• ▹Hands-on experience with Juniper Apstra, Juniper EVPN-VXLAN and Juniper QFX/PTX series
• ▹Security mindset

Nice to have

• ▹Application Centric Infrastructure (ACI) deployment and data center experience
• ▹Experience designing and implementing Software Defined Networks (SDN) and large complex networks
• ▹Experience with protocols and technologies such as BDP, OSPF, MP-FBP EVPN, VXLAN or VPC
• ▹JNCIP certification (JNCIE is a bonus)
• ▹Knowledge of automation tools (Ansible, GitLab) and scripting (Perl, Python, shell)
