Senior Backend Engineer (f/m/x) - remote

Responsibilities

• ▹Design, build, and maintain core APIs and backend services
• ▹Own operations and monitoring of production systems
• ▹Integrate third-party systems and APIs into the platform
• ▹Own design and implementation of new features and services
• ▹Identify best practices and suggest standards for the whole engineering department
• ▹Document and demonstrate solutions with documentation, flowcharts, diagrams, and clear code
• ▹Mentor junior colleagues and onboard new joiners
• ▹Collaborate closely with engineers, product managers, and business stakeholders
• ▹Proactively present insights, achievements, and results in relevant meetings
• ▹Occasionally propagate backend changes to frontend

Requirements

• ▹7+ years of experience designing and building scalable backend services in a modern production environment
• ▹Strong proficiency in Go and deep understanding of distributed systems and service-oriented architecture
• ▹Well-versed in SQL and relational database design
• ▹General knowledge of the frontend world, able to perform basic tasks in frontend apps
• ▹Self-starter with strong ownership, initiative, and ability to quickly learn complex systems
• ▹Open-minded, clear, direct, and respectful communicator
• ▹Humble, low-ego, collaborative and transparent working style
• ▹Excellent English skills, based in a European time zone
• ▹Curious and eager to experiment with new tools, frameworks, and AI
• ▹A degree in Computer Science (or related field) or equivalent work experience is desired
• ▹Eligible to work in Europe (including UK)
