Responsibilities

• ▹Building a React-based web application, served by a Python backend, used by researchers and customers to run and interpret simulations
• ▹Working with SQL and Data Lake databases that capture simulation outputs
• ▹Developing Databricks (Spark) pipelines that process and transform results for further analysis
• ▹Maintaining infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD pipelines and cloud infrastructure supporting development, deployment and operation of the platform
• ▹Building a visualization platform that helps make complex biological data accessible and actionable
• ▹Primary focus on contributing to the new SaaS platform, building new features across the stack
• ▹Hands-on platform work: infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD and deployment automation, including the move to fully codified Azure infrastructure

Requirements

• ▹5+ years of experience in software engineering - regardless of credentials or degree
• ▹Strong full-stack development experience and a track record of shipping production-ready features end to end
• ▹Hands-on experience with DevOps and infrastructure-as-code (Pulumi or Terraform), CI/CD and cloud infrastructure - enough to comfortably own platform and deployment topics when needed
• ▹A product-engineer mindset: digs into problems outside core area, gathers context from engineers, researchers and PMs, and drives to a solution
• ▹Comfortable building with AI: uses modern AI coding tools day to day to move faster
• ▹A startup mindset - high ownership, bias for action, comfort with ambiguity
• ▹A passion for software and the ability to work independently and proactively

Nice to have

• ▹Exposure to Python, TypeScript, Azure, Kubernetes or GitHub Actions is helpful, but not required - strong fundamentals are valued and onboarding to the stack is supported
