Responsibilities

• ▹Owning the platform foundation end to end: infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD, cloud infrastructure and reliability
• ▹Growing IaC coverage further as the move to fully codified Azure infrastructure continues
• ▹Making the platform scale cleanly as more customers and simulations are onboarded
• ▹Owning this side end to end while staying close to the product - jumping into backend or full-stack work whenever a feature needs it to ship
• ▹Working with a React-based web application, served by a Python backend, used by researchers and customers to run simulations
• ▹Working with SQL and Data Lake databases that capture simulation outputs
• ▹Developing Databricks (Spark) pipelines that process and transform results
• ▹Building a visualization platform for complex biological data

Requirements

• ▹5+ years of experience in software or platform engineering - regardless of credentials or degree
• ▹A strong, hands-on DevOps background: built and owned infrastructure-as-code (Pulumi or Terraform), CI/CD pipelines and cloud infrastructure themselves - not just consumed IaC someone else wrote
• ▹Solid full-stack development experience, or a clear ability and willingness to contribute across backend and frontend whenever a feature needs it
• ▹A product-engineer mindset: digs into problems outside core area, gathers context from engineers, researchers and PMs, and drives to a solution
• ▹Comfortable building with AI: uses modern AI coding tools day to day
• ▹A startup mindset - high ownership, bias for action, comfort with ambiguity
• ▹A passion for software and the ability to work independently and proactively

Nice to have

• ▹Exposure to Azure, Kubernetes, GitHub Actions, Python or TypeScript is helpful, but not required - strong fundamentals are valued and onboarding to the stack is supported
