Mainframe Administrator (System & DBA) (REF4677F)

Responsibilities

• ▹Installation/configuration of MSY related DB2 DB instances: installation and configuration of the DB instance; setting up backups for system files of the database instance; integration into system monitoring; integration into z/OS system automation; integration into standard reporting (DB instance availability); setting up DB basic system security (RACF, TSS)
• ▹Maintaining and developing methods and tools for operations
• ▹Supporting the maintenance of DB basic security administration
• ▹DB2 system programming, administration of DB2 parameters
• ▹DB2 system administration operations (creation, update, deletion of system objects in DB instances)
• ▹Support for related software procurement
• ▹Path management, development of migration concepts, version and release upgrades
• ▹Prevention and tuning (maintenance, system tuning, managing 3rd level support)
• ▹Supporting the development of system automation and monitoring procedures
• ▹Supporting administration and execution of standard reporting
• ▹System generations
• ▹Ensuring data consistency of all system files
• ▹Executing backups of all system data
• ▹Archiving logs, administering system log files
• ▹Troubleshooting
• ▹Incident, problem and change management
• ▹Remediation of audit issues
• ▹Documentation (system and operating documentation) for DB systems
• ▹Implementing a high-availability DB2-SYSPLEX solution (DB2 Data Sharing)
• ▹DBA tasks: setting up backup of application databases and database recovery; reorganization/loads/unload; monitoring the size of application databases; administration runs to maintain system tables (Catalogs, Libraries; DB2 only); reviewing physical DB consistency (DB Checker); DBA administration (e.g. define, delete, generate, reorganize) of application databases

Requirements

• ▹Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar position with equivalent responsibility
• ▹Skills for the installation, configuration and maintenance of mainframe-related DB2 systems
• ▹Skills to perform DB2 DBA tasks supporting application changes from a DB2 point of view
• ▹Good knowledge of DB2 system architecture and related software (admin tools, cloning, development support tools, etc.)
• ▹Availability to support on-call duty shifts besides normal office hours
