Responsibilities

• ▹End-to-end responsibility for the architecture of cloud and on-premise / private cloud platforms
• ▹Designing and developing cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, T Cloud Public)
• ▹Designing Kubernetes-based operations and deployment solutions
• ▹Designing and further developing shared and managed service architectures
• ▹Developing high-level architectures and technical solutions for larger projects, changes and transformations
• ▹Ensuring high availability, scalability, multi-tenant operation and security by design
• ▹Establishing and maintaining monitoring and KPI-based operations
• ▹Integrating governance and security requirements (e.g. corporate regulations, industry requirements)
• ▹Making architectural decisions considering cost, efficiency and business value
• ▹Balancing standardization with custom solutions
• ▹Evaluating technology alternatives to support management decision-making
• ▹Providing technical leadership for DevOps and System Engineering teams
• ▹Establishing operating models, roles and responsibilities
• ▹Defining interfaces between platform, delivery and operations
• ▹Establishing and developing unified architectural and operating principles
• ▹Close collaboration with internal teams, customers and management
• ▹Presenting complex technical concepts in an understandable way
• ▹Communicating decision-support material and architectural direction

Requirements

• ▹Several years (at least 3-5 years) of experience in an architect or senior/expert engineering role
• ▹Deep technical knowledge of: cloud architectures (AWS, Azure, T Cloud Public); on-premise infrastructure, networking, virtualization and storage; operating Kubernetes-based platforms; Infrastructure as Code (Terraform / OpenTofu); automation and configuration management (Ansible, Puppet); CI/CD solutions (GitLab, ArgoCD)
• ▹Experience in an operations environment (SLA-based operation, incident and change management, managed services)
• ▹Architecture-level thinking and strategic mindset
• ▹Knowledge of agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban)
• ▹Structured, documentation-oriented way of working
• ▹High level of independence and decision-making ability
• ▹German language skills at least B2 level

Nice to have

• ▹Experience in security and compliance (e.g. GDPR, BSI, PSA processes)
• ▹Knowledge of Policy as Code solutions (e.g. OPA, Kyverno)
• ▹Knowledge of service mesh technologies (e.g. Istio)
• ▹Experience in a regulated or telco environment
