Senior Software Engineer (Node), JavaScript SDK

Responsibilities

• ▹Work on Sentry's JavaScript SDKs, with a sharp focus on server-side and edge runtimes (Node.js, Bun, Deno, Cloudflare Workers)
• ▹End-to-end ownership: plan, implement, and ship code, including tests and documentation
• ▹Use AI tools to supercharge productivity
• ▹Collaborate with open-source organizations and committees such as TC39, the Node.js core team, and the OpenTelemetry SIG
• ▹Engage directly with the user community on GitHub and at industry conferences

Requirements

• ▹At least 5 years of experience as a Software Engineer, web developer, or similar role
• ▹Deep expertise developing web applications, libraries, or SDKs using TypeScript/JavaScript
• ▹Hands-on experience with Node.js and meaningful exposure to a modern server runtime (Bun, Deno, or Cloudflare Workers)
• ▹Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English
• ▹Based in the Toronto area or open to relocating

Nice to have

• ▹Experience with WinterCG or other runtime interoperability initiatives
• ▹Familiarity with OpenTelemetry instrumentation in server-side or edge environments
• ▹A history of contributing to or maintaining open-source libraries
• ▹Experience engaging with open-source committees or working groups
