Staff Platform Engineer – UK

Responsibilities

• ▹Optimize the company's homegrown, ultra-dynamic recruiting DSL-to-SQL compiler and build tooling around it
• ▹Create automated guardrails for the security and privacy of customer data
• ▹Help ship features fast through canary deploys, gradual rollouts, and feature flags while keeping downtime low
• ▹Define SLOs together with the business and engineering teams and implement the corresponding SLIs
• ▹Ensure all communication with external services supports retries and circuit breakers
• ▹Build the infrastructure for an event-driven architecture and a data warehouse

Requirements

• ▹Experience building infrastructure at a later, larger stage, handling millions of data points
• ▹Strong SQL skills and willingness to optimize data models
• ▹An engineering mindset: writing code, reviewing code, and shipping your own changes
• ▹Experience automating provisioning, monitoring, and release processes
• ▹Ability to self-manage projects and hit deadlines without external prodding
• ▹Preference for written, async communication over live meetings

Nice to have

• ▹TypeScript (frontend and backend)
• ▹Experience with Node.js, React, Apollo GraphQL
• ▹Familiarity with Postgres and Redis
• ▹Experience with observability tools like Datadog / Sentry
• ▹Knowledge of AWS cloud infrastructure and Kubernetes
