Engineering Manager - UK

Responsibilities

• ▹Help build and lead the growing, currently 25+ person engineering team in Europe, working closely with the Director of Engineering, Europe
• ▹Manage 3-5 engineers and hire 3-5 more, covering multiple teams and specializations (product, SRE, design engineering)
• ▹Give feedback on product and technical specs to help refine scope and quality
• ▹Grow engineers to the point where they can take on large, loosely defined projects with little intervention
• ▹Jump into the code to debug customer issues, ship small fixes, or improve developer experience
• ▹Lead department- and company-wide initiatives (e.g. rethinking PR review, improving the interview process)

Requirements

• ▹A strong background as an individual-contributor engineer that you enjoy keeping sharp
• ▹Experience growing and coaching engineers
• ▹Desire for a technically up-to-date, hands-on leadership role that stays off the critical path
• ▹Strong communication and change-leadership skills
