Compliance Engineer, Regulatory Deployment EMEA

Tesla's Engineering team in Munich is looking for a Compliance Engineer to ensure Tesla's EV charging equipment (EVSE) meets regulatory standards across EMEA.

Stack

Responsibilities

  • Manage regulatory deployment requirements for charging products across EMEA
  • Proactively develop product and market regulatory literature for new product introductions
  • Support authorities with onsite/offsite calibrations, certifications and audits
  • Develop compliance processes and strategies to sustain regulatory collaboration
  • Collaborate with engineering, production and deployment teams on EVSE acceptance, and run trainings
  • Identify regulatory KPIs and improve permitting and inspection rates

Requirements

  • Relevant degree (engineering, business administration, etc.) or apprenticeship with 3+ years in engineering or compliance
  • Deep understanding of key EU Directives for EVSE and country-specific regulations
  • Experience with harmonized standards and conformity assessment procedures (metering, safety, EMC, CE/UKCA marking)
  • Ability to apply electrical, mechanical and software engineering principles with strong technical writing skills
  • Proficiency managing compliance projects and audits, using tools like MS Office and Jira
  • Exceptional communication skills with internal teams and external authorities
  • Willingness to travel frequently across EMEA
