Senior IT Systems Engineer (Firewall Administrator) - 60% Remote

Responsibilities

• ▹Analyze and evaluate incoming firewall authorization requests (e.g. from ticketing systems)
• ▹Review technical and functional requirements: source/target systems, ports, protocols, communication direction
• ▹Coordinate with requesters, application owners, and network teams on unclear or incomplete requirements
• ▹Configure and implement firewall rules on central and decentralized firewalls, following least-privilege principles
• ▹Carry out changes according to change management processes
• ▹Test and validate implemented firewall authorizations through functional testing and analysis of network traffic and logs
• ▹Maintain complete documentation of all implemented firewall rules in the ticketing system and configuration documentation
• ▹Regularly review existing firewall rules, identifying and removing outdated or redundant ones

Requirements

• ▹Bachelor's degree in an IT field or recognized IT vocational training, alternatively at least 5 years of professional experience in IT
• ▹Cisco CCNP (Routing/Switching) certification or comparable security certification
• ▹At least 5 years of experience in networking (e.g. as a network administrator)
• ▹Very good German (min. C1) and good English (min. B1) required
