IT Consultant – PostgreSQL Database Operations

Stack

Responsibilities

• ▹Advise and support PostgreSQL database operations, including installation and configuration of PostgreSQL instances
• ▹Take responsibility for backup and restore processes with continuous optimization
• ▹Monitor databases using tools such as SCOM and carry out patch management
• ▹Contribute to developing automation scripts (e.g. with Puppet, ideally Ruby)
• ▹Create and maintain technical operations documentation, and further develop operations and automation standards

Requirements

• ▹Extensive experience in PostgreSQL administration and solid knowledge of database operations (installation, configuration, performance, backup and recovery)
• ▹Extensive scripting experience, ideally in Ruby, and practice automating operational tasks
• ▹Know-how in monitoring database systems and long experience creating operational documentation and technical concepts
• ▹Structured, analytical, solution-oriented work style with consulting competence and strong communication skills
