Fullstack Software Engineer (x/f/m) - AI Developer Tools
Alan is hiring a fullstack software engineer for its Everyone Can Build crew within the Tech Foundations area, which propels Alan into the AI-native engineering era. The role builds tools, agents, and infrastructure that let both engineers and non-engineers contribute confidently at scale, including Hopper, Alan's own background coding agent. The focus for 2026 is scaling Hopper alongside managed agent pools, sandboxed environments, autonomous testing, and CI auto-fix, with a Python/Flask, React, React Native, and PostgreSQL stack.

- ▹Enable AI-native engineering through harness integration and agentic workflows
- ▹Build autonomous testing infrastructure where agents validate their own work before shipping
- ▹Create sandboxed development environments that remove brittle local setups
- ▹Build CI/CD and quality guardrails: auto-fix, complexity scoring, automated checks, and new PR review experiences
- ▹Create non-engineer contribution tooling so designers, PMs, and ops can contribute autonomously
Requirements
- ▹3+ years in full-stack software engineering roles
- ▹Experience building internal platforms, frameworks, CLIs, or libraries that improve developer workflows
- ▹Care about creating delightful experiences, whether building UIs or APIs
- ▹Fluent English
- ▹Legally eligible to work in France, Belgium, or Spain
