Thesis project: detecting and compensating for mast deflection on a self-driving forklift

Sonstige • Vor Ort • Vollzeit • Schweden Mjölby, Schweden

Toyota Material Handling is looking for two thesis students for its autonomous forklift department. The task is to compensate in real time for the difference between the theoretical and actual load position during high lifts.

Responsibilities

  • ▹Collect and analyze data on mast deflection
  • ▹Modeling
  • ▹Implement a proof-of-concept solution
  • ▹Test models and the solution on real hardware
  • ▹Sensor fusion
  • ▹Investigate whether the variation between the theoretical and actual load position at high lifts can be compensated in real time, using different sensors combined with machine learning, data analysis, sensor fusion or modeling

Requirements

  • ▹Students in Engineering Physics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Computer Engineering, or equivalent
  • ▹Scope: 2 people, 15-30 credits
