Engineering Tech Lead - Brand Experience

Responsibilities

• ▹Identify and champion technical improvements for the roadmap, making the benefits clear
• ▹Work closely with architects so the architectural direction and standards are communicated, aligned and implemented in the teams
• ▹Build a strong understanding of the business and products
• ▹Lead technical design decisions, in alignment with the domain architects
• ▹Take an active, hands-on role in important technical initiatives and issues
• ▹Support new product development with POCs and documented technical designs
• ▹Research new technologies and assess their potential application
• ▹Review major changes to make sure they meet the standard
• ▹Serve as the key technical point of contact for the domain, working with product, architecture and engineering colleagues
• ▹Help build the teams: technical interviews, technical feedback, coaching and mentoring engineers
• ▹Take part in team ceremonies such as planning and refinement
• ▹Lead technical trainings to share knowledge within the teams

Requirements

• ▹Strong technical background in software engineering for web applications
• ▹Deep knowledge of TypeScript / JavaScript and web markup (CSS3/HTML5)
• ▹Deep understanding of Observable technologies (RxJS / Signals preferred)
• ▹Experience with modern agile software development practices, Git-based projects and CI/CD
• ▹Knowledge of web component frameworks (e.g. StencilJS)
• ▹Experience with large-scale applications: SDK and frontend component architecture, modularisation, efficient bundling, unit testing, integration with backend APIs
• ▹Delivering highly performant web solutions on an international scale; implementing SSR and optimising content delivery with CDNs and caching is preferred
• ▹Experience defining and documenting technical solutions for frontend architecture and its integration with backend services
• ▹Ability to review PRs efficiently and give constructive feedback
• ▹Experience and passion for coaching and mentoring, preferably in a similar role
• ▹Clear and confident communication with the engineering team (training, requirements, technical designs)
• ▹Effective communication upwards with architects and the Head of Engineering, presenting proposals, trade-offs and risks clearly

Nice to have

• ▹Experience with custom UI design system frameworks
• ▹Good understanding of front-end data tracking through Google Analytics / Google Tag Manager
• ▹Good understanding of AI tooling and AIDLC practices; helping drive responsible AI tooling adoption in the team
• ▹Sound judgement of AI-generated output, never compromising code quality and security
• ▹Experience working with geographically distributed teams
