Responsibilities

• ▹Lead the Cloud and Core Automation strategy across the Telefónica Group, driving adoption of cloud-native technologies, advanced automation and AI
• ▹Drive the definition, selection, implementation and evolution of AI-based automation for core technologies
• ▹Ensure the cloud infrastructure meets the requirements of the core
• ▹Coordinate closely with Telefónica's operating businesses and key stakeholders
• ▹Ensure a consistent and efficient automation strategy for core network platforms across the Group, leveraging intent-based operations and advanced network programmability

Requirements

• ▹5+ years of experience in network automation, cloud-native technologies or related areas in the telecommunications industry
• ▹Strong hands-on experience with network automation frameworks and methodologies, including CI/CD/CT, GitOps and Infrastructure as Code
• ▹Solid knowledge of container-based technologies and orchestration platforms such as Docker, Kubernetes and Helm
• ▹Experience defining acceptance test plans (ATPs) and validation strategies, and executing tests in lab environments
• ▹Experience in AI and Agentic AI, building projects for AI for network and network for AI capabilities within the packet core domain
• ▹Leadership capabilities and teamwork in a multi-cultural environment
• ▹Fluent in Spanish and English

Nice to have

• ▹Understanding of public cloud architectures and services across AWS, Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform
• ▹Familiarity with AI/ML techniques and their application to network analytics, prediction, optimization and autonomous operations
• ▹Good understanding of 4G/5G Core network architectures, protocols and platforms
• ▹Master's degree in computer science or telecom engineering
• ▹Experience in team management
• ▹Drive to improve day-to-day ways of working through automation
