Responsibilities

• ▹Run the team: hiring, one-to-ones, growth, workload across Europe, the US and soon APAC
• ▹Build on-call and incident management: severity definitions, escalation, paging, post-incident review
• ▹Form NOC/SOC capability in partnership with Security
• ▹Lead the transition off the former parent's infrastructure: infrastructure-as-code, root access and tooling ownership
• ▹Own client-facing operational commitments: availability, maintenance windows, RTO/RPO, DR testing and the evidence behind them
• ▹Cloud spend and the unit economics behind per-transaction pricing
• ▹Support SOC 2 and ISO 27001 work on the infrastructure side

Requirements

• ▹Has managed a DevOps/SRE/platform team of 4+ and is technical enough to read a Terraform diff and disagree with it
• ▹Has built an on-call function from nothing, or rebuilt a broken one
• ▹Production ownership of a system with contractual availability commitments, including explaining an outage to a customer
• ▹Kubernetes, IaC, GitOps, multi-cloud (AWS and Azure)
• ▹Has worked through a separation, migration or carve-out
