IT System Engineer – Network Security

Responsibilities

• ▹Ensure the security and stability of the network environment, continuously analyze and further develop the network and security infrastructure
• ▹Analyze and resolve complex network issues in 2nd/3rd level support, develop and implement technical solutions
• ▹Apply modern technologies (AI-supported analysis, AIOps, scripting, automation) to detect potential disruptions early
• ▹Design and operate modern network and security architectures (segmentation, Zero Trust, Network Access Control, SD-WAN)
• ▹Administer routing and switching infrastructure, firewalls, VPN solutions and central network services
• ▹Create and maintain technical documentation, standards and operating concepts, support projects and migrations

Requirements

• ▹Completed studies in (business) informatics or Fachinformatiker vocational training, or comparable qualification with several years of experience
• ▹Solid knowledge of network technologies (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLAN, routing & switching) and protocols (OSPF, BGP, STP, VRRP)
• ▹Know-how in IT security, firewalling, policy management, VPN and secure network architectures, as well as structured troubleshooting
• ▹Initiative and a strong affinity for the technical aspects of IT security
• ▹Very good, fluent German both spoken and written

Nice to have

• ▹Experience with cloud networking (e.g. Azure, Microsoft 365, hybrid cloud), monitoring and log analysis
• ▹Automation knowledge (PowerShell, Python, APIs or Infrastructure as Code)
• ▹Familiarity with ITIL, change management and operating regulated IT environments
