Job Description: We are seeking an Engineering Manager to join our Data and Cloud Platform team. This team plays a central enabling role at KONUX: it provides the data and cloud foundations used by our product engineering teams, while also supporting Revenue, Operations, and other business functions in accessing, analysing, and acting on data. You will lead and grow a high-performing cross-functional team owning a broad platform scope, including: Data processing frameworks and scalable data platform capabilities Cloud infrastructure, cost management, and observability Platform security concepts, tenant configuration, and device management Process automation, CI/CD pipelines, and developer enablement In this role, you will set clear priorities, align technical strategy with company goals, and help the team make sound trade-offs across reliability, scalability, security, data quality, cost, and delivery speed. You will combine strong people leadership with hands-on technical judgement: you should be able to assess technical designs, understand implementation risks, guide engineers towards pragmatic solutions, and contribute directly to the codebase or technical delivery where needed. You will also act as an important communication bridge between Engineering, Product, Revenue, Operations, and leadership, ensuring complex technical topics are clearly understood by both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Your Impact Team Leadership Effectively lead your cross-functional team consisting of 8 Fullstack, DevOps, and Data Engineers, as well as Technical Service Engineers, fostering collaboration, growth and development Conduct regular 1:1 meetings to provide coaching and support individual career development Manage performance reviews and pay adjustments according to the company framework Support hiring, onboarding, feedback, conflict resolution, and performance management Technical Delivery Own the architecture and technical strategy for the Data and Cloud Platform and collaborate with key stakeholders to align with the product roadmap and the needs of Revenue and Operations Translate company and technical goals into actionable plans for your team and ensure clear priorities and focus Treat the platform as a product: understand internal users, prioritise high-leverage improvements, and balance reliability, scalability, security, cost, and delivery speed Contribute directly to technical delivery where needed, leading by example on data and software engineering, cloud infrastructure, and automation of operational processes Assess technical designs hands-on, identify risks and trade-offs, and guide engineers towards pragmatic, maintainable solutions Communicate technical decisions, trade-offs, risks, priorities, and delivery constraints clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders Financial Management Own the annual team budget, managing both staff and operational expenses Control and optimise costs across pre-production and production environments To be successful in this role, you’ll need to have Software, DevOps, Data Engineering, or other STEM background, with a minimum of 8+ years of experience and 2+ years in an engineering leadership role, ideally incl. people-management Strong people leadership skills, including coaching, conflict resolution, hiring, performance management, and building a healthy team culture Ability to assess technical designs hands-on, identify risks and trade-offs, and guide engineers towards pragmatic, maintainable solutions Excellent communication skills, with the ability to align engineers, business stakeholders, and leadership around complex technical topics Solid hands-on experience in: Python, PySpark (ETLs), Cloud infrastructure (preferably AWS and Databricks), building a scalable data platform accelerating product teams and other functions Experience in working with IoT devices and process automation is advantageous Why Join Us: 💸 Competitive salary (100k to 130k EUR p.a. depending on experience and seniority) 📉 Equity (all permanent KONUX employees have equity!) 📖 Dedicated Learning & Development budget of 3.600€ p.a. 🏠 Comprehensive relocation support if this opportunity at KONUX requires you to move 👨💻 Hybrid working model: Meet your colleagues in the office minimum 2 days per week 🏢 Modern workspace with cool rooftop with mountain view 💻 Flexible working conditions, home office equipment and free choice between a Windows or Apple laptop ❤️🩹 Health benefits supporting your physical and mental well-being, e.g wellpass/gym membership and mental health app license 🍒Fruits, snacks and beverages for energy and our very own Oma cooking in office every Thursday 👴 Company pension scheme 🙌 Access to Corporate Benefits and Future Bens 🌴 27 vacation days (+1 day on every work anniversary for 3 years) 💁 Volunteering activities (2 additional days off) 🍻 Company and team events 🐶 We are a pet-friendly company, so your four-legged friend can join you in office!
