About the Role Avantos AI is seeking a Backend Engineer to join our team in building the Avantos web application from the ground up. Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain scalable and efficient backend services using Golang and Python Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features Implement and optimize database schemas, queries, and data models using PostgreSQL Work with event-driven architectures and message queues, particularly Kafka Participate in code reviews and contribute to improving our development practices Manage and optimize our AWS cloud infrastructure Troubleshoot, debug, and fix production issues Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code Contribute to the continuous improvement of our development and deployment processes Minimum Qualifications 3-5 years of experience in backend development Strong proficiency in Golang and / or Python Experience with AWS services and cloud architecture Solid understanding of relational databases, particularly PostgreSQL Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills Strong written communication skills Preferred Qualifications Familiarity with event-driven architectures and message queues (Kafka) Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes) Knowledge of CI/CD practices and tools (ArgoCD) Experience with infrastructure as code tools (Terraform) Experience in the financial services industry Familiarity with microservices architecture Knowledge of security best practices in cloud environments Experience with monitoring and logging tools
