The Team and the opportunity
We are looking for an experienced Executive to join our Government & Infrastructure team, supporting the delivery of complex transformation, infrastructure and public-sector programmes.
The role will primarily focus on project and programme management support, with opportunities to support procurement and commercial workstreams. The successful candidate will work as part of integrated client and EY teams, helping clients manage complex programmes involving multiple workstreams, suppliers and stakeholders.
This is a hands-on delivery role suited to someone with approximately 2–5 years' relevant experience who is comfortable taking ownership of day-to-day PMO activities, working directly with clients and converting complex project information into clear plans, reports, actions and decision-making materials.
Your key responsibilities
- Develop, maintain and monitor detailed programme and project plans, including activities, milestones, dependencies and critical paths.
- Coordinate inputs across multiple project workstreams and maintain an integrated view of programme delivery.
- Monitor progress against agreed plans and deliverables, proactively identifying slippage, dependencies, resource constraints and other delivery risks.
- Maintain programme RAID registers, action trackers, decision logs and other project controls.
- Prepare weekly and monthly project reporting, including status reports, dashboards, look-ahead reports and resource trackers.
- Support programme managers with day-to-day coordination, governance and delivery activities.
- Coordinate stakeholders and project teams to ensure actions, reviews, approvals and key decisions are completed to agreed timelines.
- Prepare materials for project boards, steering committees and senior management meetings.
- Support workshops and governance meetings, including preparation of agendas/materials and tracking resulting actions and decisions.
- Support project resource planning and monitoring.
- Maintain high-quality project documentation, version control and structured project records.
Procurement and commercial support
The role would also provide supporting capacity to procurement and commercial workstreams, including:
- Supporting the planning and coordination of procurement processes and associated procurement schedules.
- Tracking procurement activities, deliverables, dependencies, approvals and decision points.
- Coordinating technical, commercial, legal and other specialist inputs into procurement documentation.
- Supporting clarification/query management and maintaining appropriate procurement records and trackers.
- Assisting with tender evaluation processes, including coordination of evaluation inputs and preparation of supporting governance materials.
- Supporting the preparation of materials required for internal, client and external approvals.
Skills and attributes for success
- Approximately 2–5 years' experience in project management, programme management, PMO, consulting, infrastructure advisory or another relevant delivery environment.
- Demonstrable experience working on complex projects involving multiple stakeholders and workstreams.
- Strong practical experience in project planning, progress monitoring, RAID/action management and project reporting.
- Ability to take ownership of tasks and independently drive actions through to completion.
- Experience preparing clear, concise materials for senior management and client governance forums.
- Strong stakeholder-management skills and confidence working directly with clients and multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously.
- Strong written communication and attention to detail.
- Strong Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel capability.
- Experience using project planning tools such as Microsoft Project would be advantageous.
