Backend Engineer

About the Role Join a small engineering team building AI-powered operations infrastructure for private markets. You will own core backend systems that support fund accounting, reporting, reconciliation, and treasury automation, with a focus on making these workflows secure, traceable, and reliable. What You'll Do Build and maintain backend infrastructure for permissions, auditability, traceability, and observability. Manage deployment architectures for hosted and self-hosted environments using infrastructure-as-code tools. Improve the reliability, performance, and security of production systems. Partner with product teams to deliver features while maintaining high quality standards. Use AI-native development practices to support rapid, high-quality releases. What We're Looking For One to six years of professional backend development experience. Production experience building backend services with TypeScript and NestJS. Production experience with PostgreSQL and Prisma. Experience managing deployments with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or Pulumi. Experience improving production reliability, security, performance, observability, or auditability. Practical experience with AI, machine learning, LLMs, or AI-native systems. Compensation & Benefits Annual base salary: €70,000 to €110,000. Visa sponsorship is available. Location This is an on-site role based in Berlin, Germany.
