Toolchain & Digital Ecosystem Developer

The Global Project & Portfolio Leadership Office at Knorr-Bremse is building digital solutions that support the planning and execution of product development projects. Our project leaders rely on tools such as Planisware, SAP, Jira, and Microsoft 365, which are currently only partially connected.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to connect these systems, automate data flows, and develop new applications and digital solutions. Your work will directly contribute to providing project leaders with reliable, up-to-date information for decision-making and establishing the foundation for future AI-driven capabilities.

• Developing integrations between Planisware, SAP, Jira, and Microsoft 365 using APIs and automated data flows.
  
  
• Building automated data refresh processes and reports to replace manual data consolidation.
  
  
• Developing new applications and digital tools to support project and portfolio management activities.
  
  
• Enhancing and expanding the existing digital toolchain based on evolving business needs.
  
  
• Gathering requirements directly from project leaders and translating them into prototypes and working solutions.
  
  
• Designing, testing, and validating solutions before deployment.
  
  
• Supporting the implementation of digital solutions that comply with GDPR and the EU AI Act.
  
  
• Building the technological foundation for future analytics and AI-driven solutions.
  
  

• Hold a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, Information Technology, or another relevant technical field.
  
  
• Have experience developing integrations between business applications using REST APIs, connectors, and data transformation techniques.
  
  
• Possess strong programming skills in Python and/or JavaScript/TypeScript.
  
  
• Have hands-on experience with the APIs or data models of at least one of the following systems: Planisware, SAP, Jira, or Microsoft 365.
  
  
• Have strong SQL skills.
  
  
• Have practical experience with at least one modern cloud data platform such as Snowflake, Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, or similar technologies.
  
  
• Have experience building business applications, workflows, or automation solutions.
  
  
• Have business-fluent English language skills.
  
  
• Demonstrate structured thinking, strong problem-solving skills, and a proactive mindset.
  
  
• Are willing to work in a hybrid setup (3 days office / 2 days home office per week).
  
  

• Understanding of project and portfolio management processes, including planning, resource management, and budget control.
  
  
• Experience building data models or data pipelines for analytics or AI use cases.
  
  
• Understanding of GDPR requirements when designing systems and data flows.
  
  
• Experience working in international or cross-functional environments.
  
  
• Interest in digital transformation, automation, and AI-enabled business solutions.
