About the practice:

The D&A Business represents a growing capability within Atos and currently comprises a talented team of analysts, developers, consultants and architects covering all aspects of the information management lifecycle; from data management through to business intelligence and analytics. The practice is technology agnostic and has capability across a range of technologies, including products from SAP, Oracle, IBM and Microsoft as well as more specialist technology providers such as Snowflake, Databricks, Cloudera and Infoshare.

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Azure ETL Architect to lead the design, architecture, and delivery of enterprise-scale data integration and transformation solutions on Microsoft Azure.

The successful candidate will be responsible for defining data architecture standards, designing scalable ETL/ELT frameworks, and providing technical leadership across large data transformation programmes. The role requires deep expertise in Azure Data Factory (ADF) and Azure Databricks, alongside strong knowledge of cloud data platforms, XML integration technologies, data governance, and enterprise architecture.

This is a hands-on architecture role combining technical leadership, solution design, stakeholder engagement, and delivery oversight.

Essential Experience

Significant experience designing and implementing enterprise-scale Azure data platforms.

Strong hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory.

Strong hands-on experience with Azure Databricks, PySpark, and Delta Lake.

Proven experience architecting complex ETL/ELT data integration solutions.

Strong experience working with XML, XSD schema validation, XPath, and XSLT transformations.

Experience integrating legacy systems, third-party platforms, and SaaS applications using XML and API-based interfaces.

Experience designing data ingestion frameworks for structured, semi-structured, and XML-based data sources.

Experience implementing enterprise data quality and governance controls.

Experience delivering cloud migration and data modernisation programmes.

Strong stakeholder engagement and consultancy experience.

Candidate Profile Summary

The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, PySpark, SQL, XML, XSD, XPath and XSLT, with a proven track record of architecting and delivering enterprise-scale ETL/ELT solutions across hybrid and cloud environments. They will be equally comfortable operating at strategic architecture level while providing hands-on technical leadership to delivery teams.
