Within CCPS, the Cloud Software & Solutions (CSS) group designs and develops cloud platform solutions with an emphasis on quality, stability, simplification, user experience, scalability, performance, and portability. We are looking for a senior Operating System Software Engineer to join our team and build scalable cloud-native applications and services.

Your Impact

• Design and implement robust, high-performance backend services and APIs using Golang.

• Define, implement, and automate operating-system security and hardening standards, primarily for Linux environments.

• Establish secure OS baselines using recognized standards, and ensure systems remain compliant throughout their lifecycle.

• Partner with security and infrastructure teams to manage vulnerabilities, patching, access controls, audit logging, and security remediation.

• Troubleshoot complex production issues and improve system availability, observability, performance, and reliability.

Minimum Qualifications

• 6+ years (BS) or 4+ years (MS) of experience in software development, systems engineering, or cloud/platform engineering roles.

• Strong proficiency in Go and experience building scalable, concurrent backend services and APIs.

• Deep proficiency in Linux system administration (RHEL/Ubuntu/Win), including advanced shell scripting, performance monitoring, and system-level debugging.

• Strong understanding of security principles and proven experience in applying security hardening to production systems.

• Experience leveraging AI tools to improve productivity, automate routine tasks, accelerate problem-solving, and enhance engineering quality.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Python for scripting, automation, or data processing.

• Experience with configuration management and infrastructure automation tools such as Ansible, Puppet, Chef, or Terraform.

• Knowledge of cloud-native technologies, including Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS or GCP.

• Familiarity with SELinux or AppArmor, identity and access management, security scanning, and compliance automation.

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, observability platforms, and agile development methodologies.
