Your role:

We are seeking a Senior Manager to help public sector clients tackle complex challenges spanning water, the natural environment, climate resilience, food systems and biosecurity. You will combine consulting rigour with an understanding of science, engineering and policy, bringing curiosity and systems thinking to shape practical transformation. Working with senior clients and multidisciplinary teams, you will turn evidence into strategy, connect policy intent to delivery, and lead programmes that deliver resilient services, healthier ecosystems and better outcomes for people and places.

In this role you will play a key role in:

• Helping clients address interconnected challenges across water, the environment, climate, food and biosecurity, translating scientific evidence and policy objectives into clear strategies and deliverable transformation plans.
• Leading complex consulting engagements from problem definition through to implementation, integrating policy, operating model, data, digital, engineering and organisational perspectives.
• Using systems thinking to understand dependencies, trade-offs, risks and unintended consequences across organisations, sectors, places and supply chains.
• Building trusted relationships with senior clients and working effectively with scientists, engineers, policy professionals, operational leaders and digital specialists.
• Growing our environment-focused consulting business through insight-led propositions, high-quality bids and thought leadership, while coaching multidisciplinary teams and contributing to an inclusive, curious culture.

As part of your role you will also have the opportunity to contribute to the business and your own personal growth, through activities that form part of the following categories:

• Business Development – Leading/contributing to proposals, RFPs, bids, proposition development, client pitch contribution, client hosting at events.
• Internal contribution – Campaign development, internal think-tanks, whitepapers, practice development (operations, recruitment, team events & activities), offering development.
• Learning & development – Training to support your career development and the skills demand within the company, certifications etc.

Your profile:

A strong consulting background, with experience shaping and delivering complex strategy, transformation or operating model work in the public sector or another highly regulated environment:

• Relevant experience across one or more of water, the natural environment, climate adaptation or mitigation, food and farming, or biosecurity, supported by a grounding in digital transformation, environmental science, engineering, economics, regulation or public policy.
• A curious systems thinker who can connect evidence, policy, technology, organisations and delivery, make sense of ambiguity, test assumptions and communicate complex issues clearly to senior stakeholders.
• Collaborative leadership skills, with the ability to bring together multidisciplinary teams, build trusted client relationships, develop others and maintain momentum from insight through to measurable outcomes.

A relevant degree or equivalent professional experience in environmental science, engineering, economics, public policy or a related discipline is desirable.
