Engineering Lead - Wise AI Assistant Platform

Responsibilities

• ▹Lead a small, senior engineering team building production LLM systems
• ▹Shape the technical vision for AI at Wise: architecture, evaluation, and how the latest research is integrated into production
• ▹Partner closely with embedded Data Science, PM, Analyst and Prompt Engineering functions
• ▹Stay close to the latest tech with hands-on work on system design and architecture
• ▹Be a thought leader on AI engineering at Wise

Requirements

• ▹2+ years leading engineering teams, ideally including senior engineers
• ▹Strong, hands-on technical experience in OOP languages (Java) and modern technology stacks such as REST APIs, microservices, distributed systems and CI/CD pipelines - technical interviews required
• ▹Solid understanding of LLM engineering: RAG architectures, vector databases & embeddings, prompt/context engineering, orchestration patterns, tool use, evaluation methods and guardrails/safety approaches
• ▹Passion for AI and following the space
• ▹Excellent collaboration skills across functions and teams

Nice to have

• ▹TypeScript
• ▹Deeper AI fundamentals (e.g. transformer architectures, fine-tuning)
