UI/UX Director – Marathon

Backend Developer • Remote • Full-time • 📍 United States

Bungie is seeking a UI/UX Director to own and drive the vision and quality execution of Marathon's player interface, collaborating with other discipline directors to align on product goals.

Responsibilities

  • Own, drive, and communicate the UI/UX vision for Marathon based on creative and production priorities
  • Own UI/UX quality, design craft excellence, and consistency
  • Prioritize the UI/UX backlog and break down problems for UI/UX Leads
  • Build alignment with the director leadership group on goals, constraints, and execution
  • Work with the Executive Producer on team staffing strategy
  • Develop and champion UI/UX process best practices
  • Collaborate on creative problem solving beyond UI/UX
  • Work with the Executive Producer and Engineering Director on UI technical design, visual design, and tooling

Requirements

  • Experience as a UI/UX Director developing large-scale, multiplatform, live-service competitive FPS games
  • Ability to creatively align and collaborate with other director-level discipline leaders
  • Experience leading UI/UX teams in developing philosophy, process, and capabilities
  • Deep experience with UI/UX systems philosophy, process, documentation, and workflows
  • Ability to break down ambiguous problem spaces into testable hypotheses and metrics
  • Experience defining successful UI/UX collaboration with other disciplines (e.g. User Research)
  • Experience managing a UI/UX discipline, including roles, performance expectations, and hiring
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, driving tasks to completion efficiently
  • Proactive in design decisions with a focus on broader project impact
