Senior Data Scientist

Responsibilities

• ▹Develop and implement ML-based solutions to enhance the Beatport customer experience (semantic search, content recommendation/personalisation, audio models)
• ▹Act as a subject matter expert on GCP's latest ML/AI tooling, prototyping and advocating for new tooling
• ▹Collaborate with Platform Engineering and Product to prioritise relevant workstreams
• ▹Work with Data Engineers and Data Analysts to develop scalable data architectures
• ▹Develop and maintain the team's API service delivering real-time ML output to Platform Engineering

Requirements

• ▹4-5 years of direct experience as a Data Scientist, with 1+ year in a senior capacity preferred
• ▹Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field
• ▹Expert proficiency in GCP's ML/AI tooling (Vertex AI, BigQuery, Gemini APIs) and data ecosystem
• ▹Expert proficiency with Python and core ML libraries (PyTorch, TensorFlow)
• ▹Expert proficiency with SQL development, Google dialects advantageous
• ▹Robust CI/CD discipline for ML (e.g., GitHub Actions, GitLab CI) and infrastructure as code (Terraform)

Nice to have

• ▹Proficiency with an API web framework (FastAPI, Django, Flask)
• ▹Familiarity with experimentation and A/B testing frameworks
• ▹Experience with vector databases or large-scale semantic search/retrieval pipelines
• ▹Domain knowledge in digital signal processing and/or audio fingerprinting in the music industry
• ▹General music industry experience and/or interest in DJ culture
