Data Engineering Manager

Responsibilities

• ▹Define and execute a strategic vision for data engineering
• ▹Collaborate with Product to define and prioritize the technical roadmap
• ▹Drive successful execution of data engineering projects across multiple teams
• ▹Mature data engineering best practices toward test-based development and automation
• ▹Oversee development and maintenance of scalable, reliable data pipelines and infrastructure
• ▹Ensure efficient data ingestion, transformation and storage for analytics and ML models
• ▹Lead efforts to integrate data systems into a unified, patient-centered dataset
• ▹Establish and enforce data quality, privacy, compliance (HIPAA) and ethical data usage practices
• ▹Ensure a 'single source of truth' for all analytics data
• ▹Build and mentor a high-performing team of data engineers

Requirements

• ▹5+ years in Data or Software Engineering with 2+ years in Data Engineering leadership
• ▹Strong, hands-on expertise in modern data engineering tools (DBT, Airflow, GCP)
• ▹Exceptional leadership and team-building skills
• ▹Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• ▹Experience working in a HIPAA-regulated (or other regulated) environment
• ▹Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
• ▹Demonstrated experience building and supporting Data Warehouse solutions
• ▹Strong drive for automated testing

Nice to have

• ▹Familiarity with healthcare data standards (FHIR, OHDSI or similar)
• ▹Experience in a startup environment
• ▹Advanced degree in Data Science, Computer Science or related field
