Software Engineer, Notifications

Responsibilities

• ▹Improve client device experiences for receiving notifications and tailoring notification preferences
• ▹Build the platform that enables all other teams to send delightful notifications while delivering maximum value to users
• ▹Pair with Machine Learning engineers to optimize global notification signals and quality
• ▹Maintain a high quality bar for the platform's operational health and client performance
• ▹Pair with Product and Design leads to find solutions that balance delight, speed of delivery and impact

Requirements

• ▹2+ years of professional software engineering experience
• ▹Proficiency in one or more of Python, Elixir, or TypeScript, with eagerness to learn new languages
• ▹A track record of delivering high quality software reliably and on time
• ▹Attention to detail and a quality-first mindset, catching bugs before customers do
• ▹Motivated to help team members succeed and grow through empathetic feedback
• ▹A customer-focused approach and comfort working toward clear, measurable team goals

Nice to have

• ▹You are a Discord user and understand the core features and flow of Discord
• ▹You have previously worked on notifications or been part of a growth team
