Responsibilities

• ▹Partner with a wide variety of teams to optimize the software development lifecycle for speed, safety, and reliability
• ▹Deploy AI tools like Claude Code across the entire engineering team
• ▹Build agents into the platform, such as augmenting on-call response and one-shotting triage bugs
• ▹Support systems ingesting more than 1 trillion user-generated events per month with low end-to-end query latency
• ▹Administer Google Cloud Platform and Google Kubernetes Engine: Terraform, cost management, networking, security best practices
• ▹Serve as overall service owner for Kubernetes: facilitate version upgrades and new GKE feature adoption
• ▹Own observability pipelines: 30M+ Prometheus metric time series, 4 billion+ distributed tracing spans per month via OpenTelemetry
• ▹Maintain GitHub Actions based CI/CD pipelines
• ▹Maintain the devbox system that provisions cloud development environments
• ▹Procure SaaS tooling and own relationships with vendors (GitHub, Honeycomb, Chronosphere, Sentry, and more)
• ▹Run the new engineer onboarding process

Requirements

• ▹3+ years of industry experience
• ▹Experience with at least one of: Go, Python, or JavaScript/TypeScript
• ▹Production experience working with Kubernetes
• ▹Production experience managing infrastructure in a major cloud provider (GCP, AWS, or Azure — preferably GCP)
• ▹Knowledgeable about coding agents like Claude Code

Nice to have

• ▹Experience with observability solutions (OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, distributed tracing)
• ▹Experience with service mesh
• ▹Excellent documentation skills
• ▹Proficiency with GitHub Actions and the GitHub ecosystem
• ▹Experience building deployment pipelines, GitOps mindset
• ▹Bazel expertise
• ▹Experience with Terraform
• ▹Experience with cloud IAM systems and security best practices
• ▹Experience implementing Internal Developer Platforms like Backstage
• ▹Working knowledge of SRE principles such as SLOs
• ▹Passion for open source
