Senior Software Engineer, Air AI

AI / ML Engineer • On-site • Full-time • 📍 Mountain View

Commure's Air AI team is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to help build and shape the intelligence layer inside the clinical workflow, from real-time documentation to a conversational clinical assistant, while mentoring the wider engineering team.

Responsibilities

  • Build on top of AI/LLM technologies to deliver intelligent, automated experiences
  • Design and influence decisions shaping the fullstack architecture for AI-powered healthcare solutions
  • Lead or contribute to technical planning for new features
  • Establish best practices for code quality, testing, deployment and observability
  • Mentor engineers across the team, raising the bar on design patterns and code standards
  • Collaborate with product managers, designers and clinical experts to ship intuitive solutions

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field
  • Professional software engineering experience, ideally in a high-growth or startup environment
  • Strong full-stack skills: Python on the backend (required), TypeScript/React on the frontend
  • Working knowledge of containers and cloud (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Hands-on experience integrating LLM APIs or building AI-powered features in production
  • Track record of driving work from early ideation to successful production deployment
  • Strong debugging and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication skills with engineers and non-technical clinical stakeholders
