Senior Security Engineer, Application & Platform Security

Security Engineer • Remote • Full-time • 📍 Vienna

Senior security engineering role spanning application and platform security, owning security reviews, threat modeling, and vulnerability management to shape Sentry's secure development practices.

Responsibilities

  • Own and mature Sentry's security review program: secure code review, architecture review, threat modeling
  • Build mature vulnerability management practices: intake, triage, prioritization, remediation tracking, bug bounty and responsible disclosure program
  • Champion secure-by-design principles, partner closely with engineering and product, integrate security tooling into CI/CD workflows
  • Validate and reproduce application and infrastructure security findings: scanning, manual testing, coordinating penetration testing
  • Evaluate and respond to emerging threats, including the novel attack surface introduced by Sentry's agentic product features

Requirements

  • 5+ years of industry experience designing, building, and securing complex applications and large-scale distributed cloud systems
  • Degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent training/professional experience
  • Direct experience with security reviews, SDLC practices, secure CI/CD, architecture reviews, threat modeling, vulnerability management, bug bounty and responsible disclosure programs
  • Experience programming in at least one language, comfortable reviewing Python, TypeScript, Go, and Rust
  • Familiarity with distributed cloud technologies (AWS, GCP, Azure, Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform) and securing them (cloud networking, IAM)
  • Collaborative approach to problem solving with strong written and verbal communication

What we offer

  • Legally required minimum wage of EUR 74,144 gross/year (IT-KV collective agreement)
