Senior Software Engineer (C/C++), SDK

Backend Developer • Remote • Full-time • 📍 Vienna

Senior native software engineering role on the client infrastructure (SDK) team, building and maintaining native SDK libraries and console integrations.

Responsibilities

  • Develop first-class native clients in C and C++, plus integrations for gaming, IoT, and high-performance application frameworks
  • Work within the Game Dev Experience (GDX) team improving native, game-engine, and console products
  • Solve unique challenges in compilers, debugging, operating system internals, low-level optimization, and distributed systems
  • Use a variety of languages and technologies (C, C++, as well as Rust, Python, .NET, and JavaScript) to solve mission-critical problems
  • Collaborate with Infrastructure and Operations teams to build solutions that scale (processing over a billion events daily)
  • Write unit and integration tests, plus documentation

Requirements

  • 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Experience writing high-performance native server or desktop applications, or libraries
  • Experience with C and C++ programming languages
  • Good written and spoken English communication
  • Based in the Vienna, Austria area or willing to relocate

Nice to have

  • Experience with game engines (Unreal, Unity, Godot) or gaming consoles (PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch)
  • Knowledge of other programming languages (Rust, .NET)

What we offer

  • Legally required minimum wage of EUR 60,844 gross/year (IT-KV collective agreement)
