Software Engineer, Developer Experience (Go Lead)

Responsibilities

• ▹Build out Notion's next fully supported language (alongside TypeScript) with a trusted operating model
• ▹Own the success of Go as a platform while helping the Developer Experience team with other high-leverage challenges
• ▹Establish safe, reliable frameworks for running Go services at scale (deployment, observability, reliability)
• ▹Enable service architecture, maintenance and ownership via AI-enabled tooling that reduces toil
• ▹Ship a concrete "Go platform v1" within 90 days that unblocks at least two production teams

Requirements

• ▹10+ years of hands-on software development experience in fast-paced environments
• ▹Deep Go expertise, including operating production Go services at scale
• ▹Track record of owning a platform that other teams adopt (libraries, golden paths, migration playbooks, guardrails)
• ▹Strong systems judgment on tradeoffs (speed vs safety, abstraction vs flexibility)
• ▹Curiosity and breadth to tackle the highest-leverage developer experience problems
• ▹A drive to make developers' lives better
• ▹Pragmatic, business-oriented approach
• ▹Openness to adopting AI tools

Nice to have

• ▹Experience using AI-enabled developer tooling to increase leverage
• ▹Experience operating production-scale Kubernetes clusters
• ▹Familiarity with TypeScript, especially in large codebases
