Senior Security Engineer

Security Engineer • Remote • Full-time • 📍 Toronto

As a Senior Security Engineer, you'll be a trusted advisor to leadership and partner teams, leading security operations — vulnerability management, SAST, DAST, detection engineering, and incident response — across CI/CD and cloud-native production environments.

Responsibilities

  • Clearly articulate business risks to team leadership and partner teams
  • Lead security operations: vulnerability management, SAST, DAST, detection engineering, incident response
  • Integrate security into applications throughout the software development lifecycle
  • Collaborate with product and development teams to ship secure software without compromising agility
  • Drive and support the bug bounty program, application security reviews, and threat modeling (code review, dynamic testing)
  • Assess and integrate security tools to automate and scale security processes (open-source vs. vendor solutions)
  • Gather and analyze security metrics to resolve cross-team dependency issues

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in Application/Product Security or Security Operations, with a strong focus on security tool onboarding and optimization
  • Understanding of vulnerability management, network security, cloud security concepts, and industry best practices
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and able to make informed decisions with limited data
  • A flexible, constructive approach to problem solving
  • Ability to make build-vs-buy trade-offs
  • Understanding of secure engineering best practices, and the ability to explain problems and solutions to technical and non-technical audiences alike
  • Deep technical understanding of common security vulnerabilities, risks, and countermeasures
  • A hands-on engineer interested in automating controls
