Mainframe Administrator (System & DBA)

Responsibilities

• ▹Install/configure MSY-related DB2 database instances, including backup setup, integration into system monitoring and z/OS system automation, and DB-internal/external security setup (RACF, TSS)
• ▹Maintain and develop methods and tools for operations
• ▹Support administration of DB basic security
• ▹DB2 system programming and administration of DB2 parameters
• ▹DB2 system administration operations (creation, update, deletion of system objects)
• ▹Support related software procurement
• ▹Path management, development of migration concepts, version and release upgrades
• ▹Prevention and tuning (maintenance, system tuning, manage 3rd level support)
• ▹Support development of system automation and monitoring procedures
• ▹Support administration and execution of standard reporting
• ▹System generations
• ▹Ensure data consistency of all system files
• ▹Execute backup of all system data, archive logs, administer system log files
• ▹Troubleshooting, incident/problem/change management, audit issue remediation
• ▹Documentation (system and operating) for DB systems
• ▹Implement high-availability DB2-SYSPLEX solutions such as DB2 Data Sharing
• ▹DBA tasks: set up backup and recovery of application databases, reorganization/loads/unloads, monitor database sizes, run maintenance on system tables (Catalogs, Libraries — DB2 only), review physical DB consistency (DB Checker), DBA administration (define, delete, generate, reorganize) of application databases

Requirements

• ▹Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar position with equivalent responsibility
• ▹Skills for the installation, configuration and maintenance of Mainframe-related DB2 systems
• ▹Skills to perform DB2 DBA tasks supporting application changes from a DB2 perspective
• ▹Good knowledge of DB2 system architecture and related software (admin tools, cloning, development support tools, etc.)
• ▹Availability to support on-call duty shifts besides normal office hours
