Security Engineer – T Cloud Public

A Security Engineer role for the team behind the Open Telekom Cloud platform, developing and enhancing the platform in a customer-oriented way, working across cloud and container technologies. Due to data security and privacy requirements, the role is based within the European Union.

Stack

Responsibilities

  • Solve complex problems in the daily operation of a hyper-scaler's cloud backend
  • Work hardware-oriented at the console and get hands-on when needed
  • Develop and operate monitoring and quality assurance
  • Consistently automate with common automation frameworks
  • Work in a team of specialists who openly and reliably support each other

Requirements

  • Completed studies in a technical, engineering or scientific subject, or comparable professional training
  • 3-5 years of professional IT experience, securing Linux OS with a focus on modern cloud technologies
  • Very good knowledge of software defined networks, routing, firewalls, IDS/IPS, Anti-DDoS, WAF and physical networks
  • Extensive knowledge of infrastructure automation
  • Strong experience in Linux and network-related services and IT security
  • High level of customer focus
  • Knowledge of agile development processes
  • Ability to assess technical solutions and come up with creative approaches
  • Fluency in written and spoken English

Nice to have

  • OpenStack knowledge and programming experience in open source projects is a plus
