Test Automation Engineer (Playwright / Selenium / Cypress) - German Speaking

QA / Test Engineer • On-site • Full-time • 📍 Budapest +3

We are looking for an experienced Test Automation Engineer to help design and develop automated testing solutions for web applications, working closely with developers, test managers and product owners.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain and stabilize automated UI and end-to-end tests for web applications
  • Use and extend web test automation frameworks (e.g. Playwright, Selenium, Cypress)
  • Integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines
  • Build and maintain test architectures (e.g. Page Object Pattern)
  • Analyze failures, debug issues and evaluate test results
  • Review test reports, screenshots, videos and traces
  • Collaborate with development teams, test managers and product owners
  • Continuously improve testing processes in an agile environment

Requirements

  • Several years of experience in web test automation
  • Hands-on experience with Playwright, Selenium, Cypress or a similar framework
  • Experience developing automated UI and E2E tests
  • Solid programming skills in JavaScript/TypeScript, Java, Python or C#
  • Experience with CI/CD environments (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps)
  • Knowledge of HTML, CSS, DOM structures and web technologies
  • Experience building stable selectors and test architectures
  • Debugging and problem-solving skills
  • Experience working on agile projects
  • German language skills at least B1-B2 level

Nice to have

  • ISTQB Foundation or ISTQB Advanced Test Automation Engineer certification
  • Playwright, Selenium or Cypress certification or demonstrable practical experience
  • API testing experience (REST, Postman, Playwright API Testing)
  • Experience with Xray/Jira for test documentation and reporting
  • Cross-browser testing experience
  • Familiarity with cloud-based test platforms (BrowserStack, Sauce Labs, Selenium Grid)
  • Accessibility, performance or visual regression testing experience
  • Docker and containerization knowledge
  • Experience with reporting tools (Allure, Mochawesome, Playwright HTML Report, JUnit XML)
