Senior Backend Java Developer – Camunda Platform

Backend Developer • Senior • On-site • Full-time • 📍 Budapest

Senior Backend Java Developer role building the next generation of Workforce Management for Deutsche Telekom's Technology domain on Camunda and Spring Boot, aimed at digitizing and optimizing existing field service processes.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with Product Owners, architects and development/ops teams
  • Develop and maintain Camunda Spring Boot workers
  • Apply bugfixes on the backend
  • Write unit tests for new features
  • Participate in code reviews and merge requests
  • Mentor junior developers
  • Troubleshoot and analyze issues, bugs and incidents, and help with root cause analysis
  • Contribute to choosing the proper automation technologies

Requirements

  • Strong experience in Java and frameworks like Spring Boot
  • General backend knowledge (REST APIs, microservices)
  • Solid experience with Git and GitLab (branching, merge requests, etc.)
  • Experience with relational databases
  • Fluent in English

Nice to have

  • Experience with BPMN (Camunda preferred)
  • DevOps experience
  • Docker and Kubernetes experience
  • Agile methodology knowledge (SAFe, LeSS)
  • German language
