Dataiku is looking for a Data Engineer II to join its Enterprise Data and Analytics (EDA) team. The role plays a central part in delivering data that fuels analytics, AI, and data-driven insights across the company, contributing to the Data Platform that powers centralized analytics, Generative AI engineering, embedded analytics teams, and self-service users. The engineer will become a technical expert on the platforms in use and help drive engineering excellence. The day-to-day work is primarily within a Data Platform built on Snowflake, Dataiku, and GitHub, with strong software development lifecycle and DataOps skills being essential. This is an internal, non-client-facing role.
Responsibilities
- ▹Act as an expert-level engineer within the Dataiku Platform, including platform automation, GenAI capabilities, plugin development, maintenance and troubleshooting
- ▹Act as an expert-level engineer within Snowflake for data engineering and security/governance features
- ▹Build and maintain Python- and SQL-based platform automation processes
- ▹Build and maintain data quality metrics and observability to drive data quality standards
- ▹Design data models for short- and long-term use cases to support data warehouse scalability
- ▹Build and maintain GenAI platform solutions focused on security and governance
- ▹Build and maintain DataOps processes for software development lifecycle delivery
- ▹Help drive technical and architectural decisions on the data platform, including data architecture, data quality frameworks and governance
- ▹Perform root cause analysis on complex errors to ensure data pipeline availability
- ▹Contribute to the expertise, competencies, and best practices of the EDA team
Requirements
- ▹3+ years of relevant experience in Data Engineering / Data Platform Engineering
- ▹Expertise in SQL and Python is a must
- ▹Strong understanding of data architecture and data modeling concepts
- ▹Prior experience building and maintaining replication and data pipelines in a cloud data warehouse or data lake environment
- ▹Excellent analytical and creative problem-solving skills
- ▹Ability to manage multiple projects and time constraints simultaneously in a high-trust remote environment
- ▹Excellent written and verbal communication skills, especially with senior-level stakeholders
Nice to have
- ▹Experience with Dataiku DSS
- ▹Prior experience with Snowflake strongly desired
- ▹Prior experience with DevOps technologies such as GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps or Jenkins
