Product Data Analyst

Data Engineer • Remote • Full-time • 📍 Europe

n8n is hiring a Product Data Analyst to be the dedicated data partner to a product team that is already hands-on with data: PMs who write SQL and run their own analyses. You will be embedded with a product squad, taking the data work deeper and broader than PMs have time for, bringing cross-cutting perspective, and pairing on the questions that shape what gets built — with activation and adoption of n8n as your headline focus. You will sit in product planning as a peer, bringing strong, data-backed opinions about what to build next.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the PMs' dedicated data partner: take on analyses they lack time for, accelerate theirs, and pair on the most important questions
  • Bring cross-product cuts, segment views, and comparative analyses across the user base
  • Challenge assumptions and surface the analyses nobody asked for but everyone needed
  • Co-create hypotheses with PMs and pair on how to test them properly
  • Go deep on activation and adoption: time-to-value, drivers of lasting use, where users get lost, and what to build to fix it
  • Analyze retention drivers, cohort dynamics, and leading indicators of expansion
  • Influence the roadmap with data-backed opinions and crisp recommendations
  • Design well-powered, honestly read experiments and analyses
  • Partner with PMs and Engineering on event instrumentation

Requirements

  • 5+ years analyzing product usage in B2B SaaS, ideally in a PLG environment
  • Ownership of analysis behind onboarding funnels, time-to-value, feature adoption, and behavioral signals
  • Depth beyond the obvious: behavioral segmentation, retention drivers, feature impact done properly
  • Real applied statistics: spotting biased metrics, underpowered tests, or confounders, and explaining them clearly
  • Solid experimentation skills: designing and reading A/B tests properly
  • Instrumentation fluency: defining event taxonomies and partnering with engineering on tracking specs
  • Expert SQL; comfort with a modern stack (BigQuery, dbt, Metabase or equivalent)

Nice to have

  • Devtool / OSS / technical product experience with technical audiences
  • Python for analysis: pandas, statsmodels, scipy
  • Causal inference for questions A/B testing can't answer
  • Experimentation platforms: GrowthBook, Statsig, Eppo, or similar

Soft skills

Partner mindset: thriving alongside technical, hands-on PMsOpinionated and high-agency: not waiting for tickets, bringing clear recommendationsConstructive pushbackCommunication that lands: memos read end-to-end, findings that change decisions
