Senior Backend Engineer, Integrations - 100% Remote - EMEA

Stack

Responsibilities

• ▹Design, build and operate backend services in PHP and Go
• ▹Extract services from the monolith, defining clean boundaries and migration paths
• ▹Collaborate with the Product Manager to shape technical direction
• ▹Design APIs for agentic interfaces and automated workflows
• ▹Improve page speed and end-to-end performance
• ▹Contribute to high-level architectural decisions
• ▹Use AI tools (Claude Code) to accelerate delivery

Requirements

• ▹6+ years of experience as a Backend Engineer
• ▹Strong proficiency in PHP and/or Golang
• ▹Experience designing and operating high-traffic, customer-facing systems
• ▹Experience decomposing monoliths / extracting services
• ▹Experience designing APIs (REST, GraphQL)
• ▹Familiarity with event-driven, service-oriented architecture and DDD
• ▹Comfortable with AI coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot)
• ▹Cloud environment experience (AWS a plus)

Nice to have

• ▹Message queue experience (e.g. AWS SQS)
• ▹Designing APIs for AI agents or LLM-driven clients
