Senior Software Engineer - Barcelona

Responsibilities

• ▹Own the full lifecycle of a feature: understanding customer pains, design documents, coding, deployment and measuring impact
• ▹Contribute to the squad's quarterly goals and long-term vision alongside the Product Manager and Engineering Manager
• ▹Write the design documents that lay the foundation for big platform changes
• ▹Guard your team's technical quality and proactively manage technical debt
• ▹Communicate complex ideas across teams, coordinate cross-squad initiatives and contribute to engineering guilds
• ▹Support less experienced colleagues through mentorship, reviews and pairing
• ▹Help Engineering Managers understand where the team needs to grow technically

Requirements

• ▹Product leadership: translate business goals into technical roadmaps and de-risk ambiguous projects through spikes and prototyping
• ▹System architecture: scalable, evolvable systems and data models accounting for performance, failure isolation and long-term maintenance
• ▹Technical standards: define and uphold CI/CD optimizations, testing strategies and coding standards
• ▹Frontend strategy: architecture patterns, state management, performance budgets and comprehensive testing (e.g. E2E/Cypress)
• ▹Backend excellence: API versioning, caching strategies and complex data migration plans
• ▹Operational maturity: lead observability and SRE practices, define SLOs, manage incidents, run blameless post-mortems
• ▹Security and risk: secrets hygiene and dependency risk management
• ▹Mentorship and influence: lead design reviews and influence the roadmap with technical data
• ▹Coordinate multi-team deliverables
• ▹Experience with or strong interest in AI-augmented workflows (agentic workflows, custom agentic skills, AI-powered code reviews)
• ▹English is the official office language; the resume must be submitted in English
• ▹Based within commuting distance of the Barcelona hub (in-person 3 days a week)
