About the Job

As Tribe Lead Data Warehouse, you will rebuild Allianz Suisse's data landscape from the ground up. You are responsible for several teams (data engineers, developers, solution designers) who jointly transform the Core Data Warehouse (Core DWH), create a cross-departmental "one-source-of-truth" architecture, and integrate Allianz Business System (ABS) with Databricks. A multi-year program that you steer to success through technical understanding, excellent stakeholder management, and consistent delivery.

What you do

• Design and evolve the target data architecture for Allianz Suisse, driving the migration from on-prem DWH to Databricks and cloud-native tooling end-to-end.
• Own the strategic roadmap through to sprint delivery.
• Synchronize roadmaps across multiple teams, manage cross-team dependencies, and get ahead of technical and delivery risks before they appear.
• Build and maintain the shared product vision and roadmap together with business-area Product Owners.
• Lead multiple teams, set clear role and decision boundaries, and resolve architectural trade-offs when priorities conflict.
• Translate complex, cross-functional discussions into concrete next steps — who owns what, by when.
• Act as the central point of contact between business units, senior management, and teams.
• Embed an AI-first mindset in the tribe: use AI as a default accelerator in how the tribe builds.
• Track success by tangible output: data products shipped, legacy systems decommissioned, technical debt retired.

What you bring

• You know DWH architecture, Databricks/lakehouse patterns, ETL/ELT, SQL, and Python well enough to challenge design decisions as an equal — and to take ownership when the architecture calls need to be made.
• You've actually used AI tools in production work — for pipelines, code generation, or data quality — not just in a demo. You can call out where AI genuinely speeds things up and where it introduces risk that needs a human check.
• You've steered multi-year, cross-functional programs and know how to turn an ambitious roadmap into a sequence of things that actually ship, in the right order.
• You're comfortable operating in complex, senior-level stakeholder landscapes — you listen, translate technical trade-offs into business language, and get people aligned without needing to escalate.
• You've led multiple teams at once and know how to keep them moving through ambiguity and pressure without losing the team.
• Confident, polished German and English.
