About the Job

The Data Governance Operations Lead is responsible for ensuring the effective execution, coordination and continuous improvement of Allianz Technology's Data Governance operating model.

Operating across a global and highly regulated environment, this role serves as the operational backbone of the Data Governance function, ensuring that governance commitments, regulatory requirements, audit actions, remediation plans and branch onboarding activities are executed consistently, transparently and on time.

The role works closely with Data Domain Owners, Branch stakeholders, Risk Management, Compliance, Audit and Technology teams to drive accountability, governance adoption and delivery excellence across the organization. By establishing a scalable governance operating model, this role sits at the core of how Data Governance operates and scales across Allianz Technology, directly shaping the function's ability to deliver, build trust with stakeholders, and evolve into a genuine business enabler.

What you do

  • Lead the operational execution of the Allianz Technology Data Governance framework across all domains.
  • Coordinate and drive governance, data quality and regulatory compliance activities, ensuring consistent execution across the organization.
  • Lead and coordinate the Data Governance operations team on a day-to-day basis, managing priorities, dependencies and deliverables across workstreams, while working closely with the Data Governance Strategy Lead to ensure alignment on strategic initiatives involving the same team members.
  • Monitor governance commitments, risks, audit actions and remediation plans, ensuring timely escalation and closure of delivery blockers.
  • Establish governance and data quality reporting, KPIs and continuous improvement initiatives to increase transparency, efficiency and scalability of the operating model.

What you bring

  • 8+ years of experience in Data Governance, Compliance, Risk Management, Internal Controls, Program Management or related disciplines.
  • Strong understanding of Data Governance and Data Quality operating models, including Data Ownership, Metadata Management, Governance Controls and data accountability frameworks.
  • Experience leading and developing distributed teams, setting priorities and providing day-to-day direction.
  • Proven experience coordinating complex cross-functional initiatives in regulated and international environments.
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication and delivery management skills, with the ability to drive accountability across distributed teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, including experience with reporting, KPIs and operational performance management.
  • Experience with data governance and workflow tooling (e.g. Informatica IDMC, Databricks Unity Catalog, Power BI, JIRA/Confluence) and process automation initiatives is considered an advantage.
  • Basic knowledge of AI technologies, principles and their practical use.
