Senior Python Engineer, Document App (Content Engineering Team)

Responsibilities

• ▹Design and evolve backend systems powering real-time collaborative document editing for tens of thousands of concurrent users
• ▹Own the content model and data persistence layer: schema design, migrations, compatibility, and long-term maintainability
• ▹Build and maintain event-driven pipelines (Kafka, NATS) processing high volumes of frontend interactions
• ▹Contribute to the reliability, observability, and operational excellence of a large fleet of Python microservices
• ▹Ship product features end-to-end, from backend architecture to production monitoring
• ▹Contribute to AI-powered capabilities, including agentic document workflows

Requirements

• ▹5+ years of Python development experience in production environments
• ▹Strong experience with relational databases: SQL, schema design, migrations, query optimization
• ▹Hands-on experience with message queues and event-driven architectures (Kafka, NATS, RabbitMQ or similar)
• ▹Deep understanding of AsyncIO and concurrent systems
• ▹Experience building and operating microservice architectures at scale
• ▹Comfort reasoning about distributed systems: consistency, ordering, failure modes
• ▹Understanding of the full development lifecycle, from requirements to deployment and production monitoring

Nice to have

• ▹Experience building or integrating AI agents and LLM-powered workflows
