Senior Software Engineer, Convert (Backend/Infra)

Responsibilities

• ▹Design, build, and operate the distributed backend systems behind the recommendations pipeline and AI workflow execution engine, primarily in Python and TypeScript/Node.js
• ▹Own and harden the AI workflow platform infrastructure on AWS and Kubernetes, improving reliability, observability, and scalability
• ▹Strengthen how systems handle failure: eventing and streaming, retries, backpressure, and recovery
• ▹Reduce single points of failure and share operational and on-call ownership across the team
• ▹Design clean service and API boundaries, and write and optimize MongoDB data models and queries powering recommendations
• ▹Leverage AI tooling and help the team build reliable systems on top of non-deterministic, LLM-backed components
• ▹Partner with product engineers, PMs, and designers to ship end-to-end, and raise the bar on tested, observable, maintainable code
• ▹Mentor engineers across the team on backend and reliability practices

Requirements

• ▹BA/BS degree or equivalent experience
• ▹Business-level fluency to read, write, and speak English
• ▹5+ years of experience building and operating backend systems in production, ideally in scalable, multi-tenant SaaS
• ▹Real depth in distributed systems: concurrency, asynchronous and eventually-consistent processing, queues
